Award-Winning LCR-Reader Multimeters to Be Showcased at Major Trade Shows in South Korea and Indonesia

TORONTO, April 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Siborg Systems Inc. will present its award-winning LCR-Reader line of multimeters at two major electronics trade shows in October 2025: Nepcon South Korea (booth E127) and Inatronics in Jakarta, Indonesia (booth B1E3-09). These events are recognized as key industry exhibitions not only within their respective countries but also across Southeast Asia.

The LCR-Reader brand of digital multimeters was first introduced in 2014 with the launch of the original LCR-Reader R1, a budget-friendly version of the Smart Tweezers. In 2020, the product line underwent a complete redesign, marking the beginning of a new era for the LCR-Reader family. That same year, LCR-Reader-MPA was introduced and later honored with the Product of the Year award by Plant Engineering Magazine. Known for their user-friendly design, fully automatic operation, and high measurement accuracy, these devices offer a wide measurement range for electronics testing.

The LCR-Reader line has since expanded to include models such as the LCR-Reader R2, which features a 250 kHz test frequency, and the LCR-Reader R3, a budget model offering a multilingual user interface. You may find history of Smart Tweezers Evolution and related Smart Tweezers Archive on our websites.

Recently, Siborg has showcased its products at several notable industry events, including the SMTA International Expo and Conference in Rosemont, Illinois (October 2024), where the company presented a technical talk titled “Calibration of Tweezer Meters Enabling Sub 1 pF and Sub 10 nH Measurements.” The company also participated in IPC APEX EXPO in Anaheim, California (April 18–20, 2025), North America’s largest electronics manufacturing trade show.

The LCR-Reader-MPA received significant praise for its diverse functionality, particularly its oscilloscope mode, which allows waveform analysis up to 100 kHz. Attendees were also impressed by the ability to accurately evaluate very small components using proprietary Short and Open calibration boards (patent pending), a solution recently highlighted by NASA Tech Briefs. These calibration tools enable precise testing down to 0.1 pF for capacitors and 1 nH for inductors—performance that rivals that of benchtop LCR meters at a fraction of the cost.

A notable innovation in the LCR-Reader product line is Bluetooth connectivity, which enables fast Pass/Fail testing based on predefined criteria. The latest version of the LCR-Reader Data Logger supports importing a Bill of Materials (BOM) and a PCB image, allowing users to visually select components directly on-screen. Combined with sub-second evaluation times, this feature significantly speeds up the component testing process.

Each LCR-Reader device integrates precision tweezers with a lightweight multimeter. When a component is placed between the gold-plated tips, the device automatically identifies the component type and selects the most appropriate test parameters. Results—including component type, test mode, frequency, and ESR—are instantly displayed on the built-in screen.
